Rainbow Health
Foundation Mbarara RHFM is LGBTi rural based organizationthat seeks to

Western Uganda.

LGBTi grassroots and
rural based activism is our specialist. The LGBTi community in Uganda,
faces a lot of challenges which include discrimination and
Stigmatization, lack friendly basic health facilities, homophobia due to
conservative culture, Religion and laws that criminalize same sex acts, this
has been partly been addressed by brave individuals forming organizations in
the capital of Uganda, leaving out the rural, peri-urban and hard to reach
areas, thus creating needfor a platform through which the LGBTi
communities in the rural areas can be provided with services thatcloser
to them. [http://rhfmbara.webs.com/]

we are raising
funds to produce a documentary entitles 'WE ARE EVERYWHERE' this is to show
case the lives of LGBTi persons in the rural areas, their success stories plus
the human violations that happen in the rural areas because of our sexual
orientation, we hope with will be show cased in the all Africa film festival
come 2013 December.

In the Rural areas the LGBTi communities are mostly
noteducated, with low levels of income and face a lot of oppression
discrimination due to the conservatism and tradition that still prevails in
these rural communities, since RHFM Started in 2010 it hasendeavoredto
address these issues we wish to share
this with the world, telling our story of rural grass root LGBTi activism in
Uganda, with your support we want to highlight our work, by bringing voices of LGBTi
persons in the rural areas to speak out, show the world the inhuman acts that
happen behind closed doors, plus sharing our success stories of the rural grass
root based activism, we hope that the documentary will assist in changing
peoples attitudes towards same sex relations, especially law makers plus
reducing on the levels of homophobia in Uganda

untold silent secret

The silent secret

By dismus aine Kevin

I knew the secret

Even during my childhood days

Am different, I wonder why?

Year's passed,

months followed

days become longer

Nights were nightmares

This secret, alone I share

Mother can't understand

She loves me, but the secret will separate us

Trying to keep the secret,

Waiting for freedom to cover me

All alone in my dreams

Praying for God sent mate

Its forbidden even to the lord

Wondering who to turn to

Fearful to be disowned

Expelled from school

To be laughing stalk

I swear to die with my silent secret

Am only happy in my dreams

Why me? Why this secret?

Hard to share, hard to be told

Am meant to believe it's wrong

Am reminded every other day

Now more certain,

The secret can't be told

Growing older

Family pressures rise

Friends start to question

I know am different from then

What to do? Tell the secret

Oh No, it's the untold secret

NO CONDOM NO SEX

The ABC strategy campaign in Uganda Abstain Be faithful and use Condom, this has been going on well, but in the world of men who have sex men it's a different story, since these campaigns always show MEN & WOMEN, some of us tend to think it's only for heterosexual people, but  see this  in another direction, I stay in a rural place without electricity and water, road transport is horrible, the nearest health centre is Health centre II, no internet wait, assuming the mobile phones have internet, I don't even know how to use. All I have is my small radio and village meetings plus sensitization workshops I attend, here in my remote area

All these avenues say, it's immoral un African, against our culture plus of course RELIGON, so then how am I supposed to know that sex with fellow men needs protection, that's sounds farfetched to me, has our government done anything to educate the public about the different life styles and ways to protect those that living these life styles or we are still pushing for anti-gay agenda

through the conservations and lgbti community discussions, I quote 'I feel safer saying with a fellow man minus using protection than I do with women, because women spread disease' the question is what of men, they say men who sleep with men are among the most at risk population, there is a big gap information flow it's our prayer that people concerned get the messages and act otherwise our young lgbti generation is perishing

you may or may not legalise homosexuality, but let's try to put the right information out there, going for an HIV TEST with my pattern,  we encourage couples to go for couples counselling, yes we are a couple and we are here to test as a couple, am sorry we have to take it one by one because we only work on heterosexual couples, seriously what about homosexual couples, crazy crazy world

as the rhfm is striving hard to bridge the gap, we appeal to stake holders and well wishers support our cause and let get to zero new infections for all. Support our campaign NO CONDOM NO SEX for the lgbt community in the rural areas

alluta continue
